About the Award



To commemorate the life and work of Monica Warner — who passed away in August 2009 — Novartis Oncology, through The NET Alliance, established the Monica Warner Award. This award is presented annually by Novartis Oncology to honor the patient, supporter, or caregiver who most embodies the passion, dedication, leadership, and spirit with which Monica Warner assisted patients, caregivers, and families affected by neuroendocrine tumors (NET). Monica Warner was an everyday NET hero. She was a person who inspired the NET community through her passionate involvement.

We want your help to honor the next NET hero today, who stands out as an inspirational member of the NET community. You can nominate your hero today, just read the guidelines below.


Share the story of your everyday NET hero by answering the statements below:

  • How he/she has proven to facilitate positive change in the NET community
  • Provide examples how he/she has inspired and improved the lives of NET patients
  • Share how he/she engaged with NET support groups
  • Nominees may be patients, caregivers ,or advocates, at least 18 years of age, who live the United States.

All questions above must be answered in order to qualify for the Monica Warner Award.

The winning nominee will:

  1. Receive an engraved plaque
  2. Select an approved, patient-focused 501(c)(3) charitable organization to which Novartis Oncology will make a $10,000 donation.
  3. Be recognized on certain Novartis websites and social media
